Maricopa Parks Host Diverse Public Lands Day Events
Maricopa County Parks is celebrating National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 27, 2025, with a variety of events at parks across the county. The day is organized to encourage people to engage with public lands by participating in conservation projects and exploring nature.
Events include a plant hike from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Usery Mountain Regional Park in Mesa, a community bicycle ride with a ranger from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at White Tank Mountain Regional Park in Waddell, and a desert bathing and quiet nature art experience from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at San Tan Mountain Regional Park in Queen Creek.
Additional activities include a National Public Lands Day hike from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lake Pleasant Regional Park in Morristown that requires registration, and two Discovery Station sessions: one titled “Celebrate our Parks on National Public Lands Day” from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at San Tan Mountain Regional Park and another “Maricopa County Parks” session from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM at Hassayampa River Preserve in Wickenburg.
The day rounds out in the evening with a stargazing event hosted by the International Dark Sky Discovery Center at McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fountain Hills from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
Registration is required only for the hike at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Links to additional event details are available in the comments section.
